Morning Coffee at Starbucks, Royal Mile, Edinburgh, Old Town, Scotland
I visited Starbucks, Royal Mile, twice when I was in Edinburgh, once in the evening and another time very early in the morning. While it was super-duper crowded in the evening, morning was almost empty and I was able to snap some real nice pictures for my blog! Located in the center of the Edinburgh Old Town, and housed in a lovely, old building, the first floor seating area affords great views of the Edinburgh Old Town. Coffee was good and I especially enjoyed the old-world charm of this ancient building matched with the interiors of the cafe. I have a small story to tell that accompanied my morning coffee at this very enchanting Starbucks cafe!
While I was on the train from London King's Cross to Edinburgh, a man in his mid-forties and with a fairly disheveled appearance got on the train, occupying the seat in front of me. He seemed a little out-of-sorts and before I got off the train at Edinburgh Waverley, I felt I would see him again. To my surprise, the very next morning, when I went down to the Starbucks in Royal Mile, Old Town, Edinburgh, the only other man having breakfast there was the this guy I had encountered in the train, the day before! Was it serendipity or did we have karma to work out, I am not sure, but he made me very uncomfortable as he continued to stare at me while munching his croissant. It may well have been a Scottish apparition - a kind of a Hotel California happening in Edinburgh instead - at least the setting was perfect, an antiquated building with a mysterious past and lots of coffee to get you intoxicated.....
