12 reasons to stay at the Park Hyatt, Goa - a must have vacation!
Happy Holidays! So it's holiday time and I was in Goa, India for the first time in my life, where I was gifted a stay at the Park Hyatt, a luxury 5 star resort and spa in South Goa, located right next to the beach! It was the perfect dream stay--the weather was warm, the sun was shining and I was able at last, to get out of all my winter gear and do all my favorite things in life--swim, walk, meditate, watch movies, take massages or just lounge in my room! If you ever plan to get there and are looking for a nice hotel, trust me, you will simply love the Park Hyatt and here are 12 reasons why. :)
1. ARCHITECTURAL BEAUTY
Covering 45 acres of carefully manicured gardens plush with palm trees, lagoons and waterfalls, this charming hotel is designed in the form of an Indo-Portugese village, ideal for both a quiet introspective holiday and bonding with your family. The rooms are located in beautifully appointed cottages intermediated with waterways and streams and surrounded with palm trees. Some rooms also have a view of the beach.
Since I love all things sports, this had to be one of my first reasons for simply falling in love with this hotel! Here are a number of sports you can do at the Park Hyatt:
There are three pools plus more kids pools and even though the hotel was sold out when I was there, I had the joy of having the pool to myself whenever I went for a swim. The water temperature was perfect and in this serene setting, I just swam away the world.....really!
b. WALKING, RUNNING, JOGGING
I had the choice of walking or running on the beach or on the tracks running through the hotel's beautiful landscaped gardens.
The hotel offers bicycles for rent and I cycled on the beach during sunset, till I felt a joyous exhilaration in all my body cells. Tip: Cycling against the wind can be quiet something!
I also cycled on the tracks in the hotel's gardens which was quiet delightful. :)
For those who like a little adventure in life, this could be fun!
e. WATER SPORTS
You could take a boat into the sunset and get lost in the beauty everywhere!
a. Restaurants at the hotel
This beach-side restaurant called the Palms at the Park Hyatt is my absolute favorite. With the sound of the waves gently rocking the shore and the view of the setting sun, you can enjoy eating some really fresh sea-food (including the catch of the day) as the cool breeze caresses your face.
Other restaurants are Masala for Indian food, Da Luigi for Italian and Casa Sarita for Goan cuisine. I also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast very much in the common patio area of the restaurants.
b. Restaurants in the neighborhood
There are also a number of restaurants in the neighborhood where you can enjoy authentic Goan cuisine. Zeebop is one such restaurant where I enjoyed a lunch of prawn curry and rice. Another nice place to eat is Fish'ka for seafood. Oh well, if you are a number of days at the hotel, you just might want to step out and check out these places.
c. In-Room Dining
Really enjoyed my coffee, smoothie, soups and all things food in the comfort of my room. :)
4. THE SPA EXPERIENCE
A. THE SERENO SPA AND GYM
Enjoy your workout at the gym and end it with the spa--massages start from $10!
B. IN-ROOM SPA EXPERIENCE
I actually also really enjoyed the luxurious spa-like restroom in my room where one almost felt like being in a real spa and also a private one! My room had an outside shower as well and a jacuzzi like bath-tub that was perfect!
6. CONDUCIVE TO MEDITATION
My room overlooked a stream and I enjoyed sitting in the patio area with just a book by me and meditating and introspecting. :)
7. MOVIE FUN
The hotel has a theater where they show two movies everyday; besides you can also ask DVD's to be sent to your room for watching them in your room. Next time I would carry my own DVD's and catch up on the movies I missed. I want to see Love Actually--it has all my favorite actors from Alan Rickman to Hugh Grant, it is love actually and the other one on my list is Room with a View, romance in Italy is always fun. :) I saw Eat, Love and Pray because there was not such a good collection of movies--my only disappointment at the hotel!!
8. SURREAL ROOM COMFORT
I enjoyed my room very much and especially the evening turndown service--sleep was blissful after that!
9. CHILD FRIENDLY HOTEL
Besides the swimming pools for the children, there is also a special play area for them called Camp Hyatt. There is also a separate kids menu to choose from. What's more, children love the beach and to play with the sand!
11. GET THE SUN: SUN BATHING
You can increase your Vitamin D levels by exposing yourself to the sun either by the pool side or on the hotel's private beach!
12. JUST FOR FUN!
Weddings at the hotel can be great fun to watch especially if one hasn't seen an Indian wedding. There was a wedding happening at the hotel but since the property is so large, I did not hear any noise but occasionally saw guests dressed up in formal clothes who were part of the wedding group--:) And I forgot to mention that the hotel has golf carts to take you around the hotel if walking is not your thing!
