Here are 10 things I did to #revive my day!
This morning when I woke up, I was so much looking forward to go for a long walk on my favorite beach in Southern California–the Swamis beach at Encinitas but when I arrived there, the beach had been literally swallowed up by the ocean. I still dared to get down the long flight of stairs that lead to the beach (or whatever that remained of it) and walking very carefully on the edge of the cliff, found my way to a high protruding rock where I planned to perch myself and take some pictures with my new iPhone 6s Plus. Before long, a huge wave hit at the rock I was trying to climb splashing at my new Ralph Lauren Active trackpants and Patagonia fleece jacket and covering my hair with sand and salt– I was forced to quickly turn around before my iPhone got wet!
However, life is good and here are 10 things that revived my day!
1. Make the best of what you got!
So after leaving the beach, I got to a safe spot from where I could watch the surfers drown themselves in the ocean waters! The sun was shining, people were smiling, there was a man playing the guitar and somehow the happy and relaxed vibration all around me filled me with joy and lifted my spirits and I was still able to test the camera on my phone and take pictures!
2. Sometimes all you need is a hot chocolate!
Somehow I am not a big fan of Starbucks coffee but I really do like their hot chocolate with just the right amount of cream squished on the top–yummy! So after the beach I headed straight for a shot of hot chocolate at the nearest Starbucks–apparently you can load money into their App and pay through it–pretty cool, I saw a lady there do that! Sitting there all by myself on the outside patio, sipping my hot chocolate and watching the world pass by–young people on laptops, fitness fans and surfers, old people and little children, I felt...content.:)
3. No regrets
Yes, you are right! That is what I had for dessert today-Apple carrot cake–there is nothing worse than eating a dessert and feeling mighty guilty afterwards! Allow yourself eating sweets once in a while and don't break yourself over having eaten such stuff–trust yourself instead, to shed those extra calories by biking or swimming or walking or whatever your favorite sport is! Sugar does help to beat the blues sometimes! And don't forget the papaya enzymes later for digestion–I actually had to walk to Whole Foods to get those before I literally died of acidity!
4. The Patagonia fleece vest lights up the day!
There is nothing better in the world to make me feel good than to dress up–even though Encinitas is a casual beachside town, I like to make casual fun so I dressed up my favorite Patagonia fleece vest with a Patagonia base layer and Lululemon Sit in Stillness track pants! Even after all that sweet, I felt like a model!:))) Everybody has in their closet something nice, don't let it sit there–get it out and dress up and feel like a million dollars...you're worth it!
5. Being kind and bringing joy in other people's lives makes life fun!
I saw this beautiful floor design at the flower section at Whole Foods and was instantly moved! Yes, whenever we show our 'sweet side' to others, not only we bring joy to them, we also uplift our own selves helping us break free from moods and blues.
6. Meditation is the key!
Encinitas has my favorite meditation spot, the Saint Francis meditation area in the SRF meditation gardens there. Meditation is one of the greatest tools I have found in my life that can make me feel better instantly! Even if you can't meditate at first, find peaceful places where you can go, to be with yourself and just absorb the peace...it's a great way to detox the mind!:)
7. Watching children play can be therapeutic
It's a good habit to sometimes watch little children have fun–they are so full of wisdom and their joy can totally rub off on you!
8. Take a long walk!
Being a fitness fan myself, I totally believe when they say that exercise is the best thing in the world that releases happy hormones in the body and keeps you shining and smiling!
9. My favorite Uggs!
Shopping should be totally avoided as a form of therapy to heal our moods, but when my favorite pair of Uggs go on sale, I believe it's completely worth it!
10. A heavenly manicure
Step out and get a manicure! Believe me there is nobody in the world who cares more for you than yourself! Indulge yourself once in a while and keep smiling all the while!
