Morning Glory

I recently saw this movie and I cannot say that it is the best movie ever, but I can definitely say that this film was hugely inspiring to me. It is the story of Becky (Rachel McAdams), a TV producer, who after getting laid off from her job with a successful TV program, is hired by another TV program which is not only low-rated but is facing serious problems on the sets with warring co-hosts. The film focuses on how Becky, with her power of positive thinking and indomitable will, revives this struggling morning show and also brings harmony on the sets between co-workers!

The Social Network

This is a 2010 film on the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg and how he builds the world's number one social media website. It actually is the most frequented website in the world anyway! I just read an article in The Guardian quoting how Mark Zuckerberg rejected his portrayal in The Social Network as someone who set up Facebook to get girls or to get into clubs.

The #JungleBook

Did you guys go and check out this new Disney film? It's fantastic! I saw it with a friend the other day and the 3D experience of being in the jungle in such stunningly, beautiful surroundings was absolutely magical! The movie is beautifully directed--honestly, I don't know how they come up with such brilliant stuff and I can only say that the guy who made this film Jon Favreau, has to be in touch with higher consciousness to create something so magnificent!

St. Giuseppe Moscati: Doctor to the Poor

This is one of my favorite Italian movies (available with English subtitles) about the Doctor-Saint Giuseppe Moscati from Naples in Italy. The movie explores the saint's life after he graduated from college and started working as a doctor dedicating his life to helping the poor. Written and directed by Giacomo Campiotti, it is a magnificent film about Giuseppe's love, compassion and service to the poor. Giuseppe's romance with Princess Elena (which is more fictional than real) does add a nice flavor to the film. :)

Sense and Sensibility

Based on the novel by Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility is a deeply touching film about love lost and found, friendships and separations, heartaches and joys. It has been acclaimed as one of the best adaptations of Austen's work of all times and earned 7 Academy Award nominations including for Best Picture and Best Actress. The screenplay was developed by Emma Thompson who took 5 years to write it and won an Academy award for Best Adapted Screenplay for the film, thus becoming the only actress with two Academy Awards in different categories as Best Actress and Screenplay.

The devil wears Prada

One of my all-time favorites, I can totally relate to this film because I have worked with some of the big fashion houses in Milan and as a student of fashion in Italy,...Meryl Streep in her role of Miranda Priestly is perfect as she plays the shrewd and haughty editor of a top fashion magazine. Andrea Sachs played by Anne Hathaway, is an aspiring journalist who despite her poor dress, her size 6 and general lack of manners and no style, lands a job as the private secretary to Miranda, one of the most coveted jobs in the fashion industry

Pride and Prejudice

Matthew Macfadyen plays the very handsome and rich but at the same time proud and arrogant Mr. Darcy whose character undergoes a transformation when he falls in love with the simple and modest Elizabeth Bennet, the second eldest of the five Bennet daughters. All out in the society, Mrs. Bennet's burning desire is to see her daughters married and settled. The story is based on the classic novel written by Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice, which is also probably one of her best works.
