Ok, so I am a big fan of Audrey Hepburn and I must warn you that I will be posting many of her films in this space! The first time I wanted to see Roman Holiday, I had just come back from a spiritual retreat and even though I had really wanted to see the film, I kept postponing the desire to see it. I am one of those persons who gets deeply affected by films and they stay with me for days so I was not very sure if I wanted to take a film in my mind space after the wonderful spiritual retreat. Then came the time to fly to Munich, Germany and while scrolling through the in-flight entertainment, I found Roman Holiday playing! Talk about desires being materialized! This was just after a month when I had first had the desire to watch this film! I guess if the desire is strong and the motive is pure, all dreams are fulfilled. :)
Audrey Hepburn is the royal princess and Gregory Peck is the handsomest newspaper reporter ever! How they meet and fall in love in the city of love-Rome, you have to find out for yourself, otherwise I'll spoil your film! How I saw the film and fell in love with Gregory Peck, that I can tell you, it was easy-he is the most good-looking guy on the face of this planet! It's a really sweet and touching romantic comedy and Hepburn won an Academy Award for her performance in the film.
I love Hepburn's style in the film of a collared shirt with sleeves rolled up, a flared skirt accessorized with a scarf and a belt. Inspired from this look, I would match a flared skirt from the Talbots Skirt Collection with a Talbots full sleeve shirt (sleeves rolled up!) and a Talbots belt and a scarf. Guess am dressed up for Rome and love now! :)
