My top ten outfit posts from 2016

As 2016 is coming to an end, I wanted to review my best outfit posts for the year. I only started my blog last year never thinking that I would be posting my own pictures or modeling my own clothes. Initially, I was only posting links to online sales to help friends get the best deals. Then I started reviewing pieces from my own wardrobe. However, I did not feel very satisfied with that and started modeling my own clothes. I would wake up at 5 a.m. and go out in the front lawn of my house and take my own pictures with a tripod! Still, I did not have the confidence to show my face, so I would always cut out the face in my pictures! It was only after a friend insisted that I show my face, I tried it and got a good response. Then I went to London to learn how to do my own make-up for my blogposts at the London School of Beauty and Make-up. During my stay in London, I would be scanning the streets of London with my tripod, hunting for suitable locations where I could take my own pictures! Very soon I found a community of photographers in London who could travel with me and take my pictures. I realized how important it was to have good backgrounds to get good pictures but more than anything else, all my inmost desires for fashion and travel started getting satisfied!

It has been a very enriching year. I love what I do and always believe in giving my best to whatever I am doing irrespective of the results. Some days I wake up and am already very restless to get to work and on other days I may not feel as inspired, but I still try and give the best for that day. I have learnt to take one day at a time, to persevere, to have faith and to always keep a joyful heart!

1. My high-tea dress at Coworth Park Hotel & Spa, Ascot (near London)

I was returning to London by train in the Eurostar with my friend Nina Shaw, a brilliant photographer and a very hard-working girl. I was so exhausted that I wanted nothing else but to check into a 5 star spa - my credit card still had money on it! Nina told me that she had just filmed the U.K. well-being awards and strongly recommended the Dorchester Collection's Coworth Park Hotel and Spa near London, one of the winners of the well-being awards. I immediately booked a room and it ended up being one of my best hotel stays ever. For those of you who don't know, John Lennon also wrote the lyrics of his famous song 'Imagine' here.

Coworth Park is spread over 240 acres of English countryside and boasts a heated pool, horse stables, polo grounds, lakes, walking trails and flower fields. We shot these pictures in the flower fields that we could not get enough of!

3. My Ralph Lauren dress at the Louvre in Paris

Whether dresses or tees or nightwear, I am a huge fan of Ralph Lauren. This dress that I wore to Paris has a lovely embroidered jacquard pattern on the hem. I styled it with navy boots from Marks & Spencer and a Kate Spade bag. Check out the post to see how the pattern of the dress matched the background - the glass pyramid of the Louvre.

8. In a Prada dress at Bibury, a charming Cotswold village in England

My cousin Ruchi K. Goenka who is a London based make-up artist, drove me to Bibury one day while I was staying with her in London. She also did my make-up and hair before we left for Bibury. The place is to die for as well as the Prada dress, I was wearing that day!
