Fall preview: Ralph Lauren check shirt & a Zara jacket at Edinburgh in Scotland
Even though I am not a morning person, I was particularly impressed with myself, when the last day of my stay at Edinburgh in Scotland, I trotted out of bed at the unworldly hour of 4 a.m.! A nice, hot cup of coffee stirred my brain-cells from a semi-unconscious state to a more sentient one, which was followed by a brief period of meditation that reawakened my chakras (hey, I practise yoga, ok?!), making me aware that I was a conscious being, capable of feeling and responding.
After a nice, long, indulgent shower and another cup of coffee, I got dressed in my new Ralph Lauren check shirt, a Zara quilted jacket and a pair of True Religion jeans with a Gucci bag to match - I was out and about in the Old Town of Edinburgh at 6 a.m.! The sun had started to come out of the clouds, spreading it's rays and enveloping this ancient town of the Scots in a soft gold light. The roads were empty and it was very silent except the occasional screeching of luggage-wheels heard in the distance, as tourists made their way to the railway station, dragging their suitcases with them.
I felt hauntingly alone and yet I wouldn't have liked to share this morning with anyone except myself - seriously, I love solo-travel!
My morning ended with a tall cappuccino and croissant at the Starbucks located in the Old Town of Edinburgh. This Starbucks is probably one of it's kind in the world - housed in an ancient building that is rich with history and every corner of which echoes an era, when good conversations and books were the order of the day.
