Exploring Inverness in Scotland in a Ralph Lauren skirt
As far back as I can remember, I have been in love with pretty plaid skirts. As a child, I loved to wear my best friend's Scottish style red plaid skirt and get myself clicked in it - I guess I was already training to become a blogger way back then! So when this Ralph Lauren uneven hem Scottish style plaid skirt showed up on sale on ralphlauren.com, I had to have it! It is from the Ralph Lauren Blue Label Collection which they don't do anymore. I wore it on my recent trip to Inverness in the Scottish Highlands, and styled it with a Clarks bag, tan boots and leather accessories.
I remember my day in Inverness - I had just got out of the Mercure hotel where I was staying, to take a walk along the river Ness, when suddenly a very friendly Chinese man stopped in front of me and looking at my camera, offered to take some pictures of me! I was more than grateful for his kind offer but did not want to interrupt his holiday, so after he took a couple of pictures, I let him go! The close up shots of the bag and the skirt are from this kind man!
The Old Town of Inverness is breathtakingly beautiful and a walk along the river Ness can be pretty spectacular especially when the sun is rising.
As I walked along the river Ness, I explored the Inverness Castle, the main Cathedral and other churches in the Old Town. I found the Scots to be friendly and genuinely warm people and hardly anyone missed saying me hello or waving at me during my early morning excursions.
The architecture of the homes and churches is stunning and dates back centuries when gowns and jodhpurs must have been the order of the day!
It's a great place to visit in Scotland and if you are staying at the Mercure Inverness hotel, ask for a room overlooking the river - you will feel like you are in wonderland!
