Undreamt of possibilities with this black tank dress from Eileen Fisher in viscose jersey: my new favorite LBD
In today's distinct period of history when your worth is measured by how many followers you have on social media and how many new outfits you can produce on your instagram for your followers every week, this black tank dress in viscose jersey from Eileen Fisher is a winner. The most versatile dress ever known to mankind, you can keep revolving it or evolving it on your insta-account in infinite number of different looks just by changing the layering piece or the accessory.
Seriously, I just found the perfect all-season dress that can go from lounging, to running errands to coffee dates to private dinners in fancy restaurants and even to just sleep in! It also makes a great travel outfit!
Since it is Eileen Fisher, you can be sure of the quality and at $198, don't get intimidated with the price! This is one dress that will outlive you or your expectations of anything material in this world of duality. It is also very easy to care for as it does not require any major ironing or washing (black never really gets dirty, right?:)). I recommend occasional dry-cleaning to preserve the integrity and newness of the dress.
Here is my story on the dress.
I was having dinner at a friend's house in a small village in Düsseldorf, Germany last week and suddenly decided to sleep-over. My Eileen Fisher black tank dress that I was wearing, effortlessly converted into a very comfortable and chic night dress, meeting the exigency of the moment.
I woke up to coffee and yellow tulips!
My friend's living room table transformed into my make-up table.
It had been a pretty intense week with not much sleep and I tried to do the best job I could with the dark circles!
I was happy with the make-up results!
I was so glad that I had picked up this Gucci bag the day before-it matched perfectly with the dress! I love how this tan color matches with all outfits!
It was time to step out. I was just about taking out my cashmere wrap when my friend snapped a few pictures! Oh, paparazzi! P.S. This 100% pure cashmere wrap in creamy white is hand-made from Srinagar in Kashmir, India. You can e-mail me of course, for more enquiries.
As I stood before this shop-window admiring the bag with the star, I was suddenly greeted by the doorkeeper!
This Mai-Baum (May tree) decorated with ribbons by a young man in the village for his sweetheart, brought back memories of my own heart-breaks and lost love. P.S. 'May tree' is a tradition in Germany when any young man who likes a girl, gets her a tree and decorates it with ribbons.
Surprisingly these high-heeled shoes from Sweden that a friend had gifted me, were very comfortable to walk in.
At Düsseldorf city we stopped at the Radisson for drinks-lemon in soda water. :)
For lunch, my friend suggested a nice vegan place in the neighborhood that was self-service and offered wholesome and delicious food. It kind of reminded me of Soup Plantations in the U.S.. I actually bumped into a couple of Americans at the restaurant!
I got coffee to go with soya milk! I like my coffee with Kaffeesahne (coffee cream or half and half) but since it was a non-dairy, vegan restaurant, I had to settle for a less interesting option. It was cold outside and I wore my Eddie Bauer velour jacket on top of the dress.
My friend couldn't stop taking pictures of the dress but I preferred to take my own selfies!
I discovered that there was nothing like walking in these shoes through Düsseldorf city and drinking coffee and eating cookies on the go!
However, I changed my mind very soon and suggested to take a bus to the Düsseldorf harbor. My friend wanted to walk!
At the harbor, I was so tempted to snap insta-pictures of my new Gucci bag which I put on Instagram immediately! I have just become a faithful Instagrammer, follow my account sourcingstyle on instagram for more cool pictures!
I was getting sucked-in in the peace vibrations of this beautiful harbor.
I could have sat there endlessly looking at the water and feeling the peace that emanated from nowhere and everywhere.
Back home, we stopped at the supermarket to buy coffee and after a nice hot shower, I hung my Eileen Fisher dress nicely to wear again the next day! P.S. Traveling light is my thing!
